Senior Aerospace Structural / stress Engineer


Our client, a blue chip organisation in the aerospace manufacturing sector has an immediate opening for an experienced Structural Engineer.

This challenging position involves:

   * Design of minor and major repairs to metallic airframe structures for specific customer aircraft and standard repairs for the aircraft repair manual
   * Static and fatigue substantiation of minor/major repairs and modifications to metallic airframe structures using traditional and FE analysis methods, plus safe life and damage tolerant analysis
   * Definition of additional structural inspections for aging aircraft
   * Proposals for and implementation of structure related design changes
   * Analysis of occurrence reports from the fleet
   * Liaison and coordination with the customer support group and maintenance department

For this position you are required to have the following skills and background:

   * University graduate and 5 to 10 years postgraduate experience in stress and FDT analysis in the aircraft industry
   * Familiarity with NASTRAN, FEMAP or similar packages and FDT tools (e.g. AFGROW)
   * Familiarity with CS/FAR Part 23
   * Very good knowledge of the English language. Ability to communicate in German would be an advantage
   * Must be able to work with minimal supervision
